Jordan Lake drowning victim identified
Search crews recovered the body of a man who drowned at Jordan Lake Monday afternoon, authorities said.

PITTSBORO, N.C. — Search crews recovered the body of a man who drowned at Jordan Lake Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Javier Castro, who authorities said was in his late teens, was swimming with his family about 30 yards off shore at the Seaforth Recreation Area, said Jordan Lake State Park Superintendent Shederick Mole said. When a relative swam to shore, he looked back and noticed Castro wasn't with him, Mole said.
Authorities closed the beach for about 90 minutes while boats, divers and paramedics searched the lake for the man.
The beach was reopened shortly after 3:30 p.m.
