Johnston DWI checkpoint nets $1M in cocaine
Officers manning a drunken driving checkpoint Saturday night discovered $1 million worth of cocaine stuffed in a car, according to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.
Posted — UpdatedDeputies said they found 10 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside the car's doors during the checkpoint on U.S. Highway 70 in Princeton.
Daniel Rabiela Gonzalez, 33, and Everardo Rabiela, 29, both of Auburn, Ga., were charged with trafficking cocaine. They were placed in the Johnston County jail under separate $5 million bonds.
The checkpoint also resulted in two arrests of people with outstanding warrants and 51 other charges, including one for driving while impaired, 28 for driving without a license or a revoked license, and one for possession of moonshine.
