Johnston County wreck sends two people to Wake Med
Two people suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash occurred on N.C. Highway 42 around 5:30 p.m. on Friday in Johnston County.

Two people suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash occurred on N.C. Highway 42 around 5:30 p.m. on Friday in Johnston County.
Officials said a white van traveling east on N.C. 42 collided head-on with a Ford SUV after running off the road, overcorrecting and veering toward the center line.
The drivers of both vehicles were the only passenger at the time of the accident, police said. Authorities said the driver of the Ford suffered a collapsed lung; both drivers sustained broken bones.
Officials said the injuries are serious but not considered life threatening. Both drivers were transported to Wake Med.
