Two people were taken to the hospital after a nearly head-on wreck on N.C Highway 42 near the Johnston-Wilson County line.

<b>KENLY, N.C.</b> — Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a nearly head-on wreck on N.C. Highway 42 near the Johnston-Wilson County line.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m., according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. One person was pinned in a vehicle for about 40 minutes, and the other sustained minor injuries. A WakeMed helicopter was flown in for the victim who was pinned.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation set up barricades near the scene with a detour around the area.
