— Johnston County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man this week accused of sex crimes with young girls, ages 10 and 11.

John Eric Dutton, 44, of 112 Amberley Court in the Johnston County area of Garner, was arrested this week on two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of first-degree sex offense of a child.

Tammy Amaon, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said Dutton was originally arrested and released on bond in June on a charge of indecent liberties with a child.

He was arrested again last week and placed jail under a $1 million bond after the families of two girls went to authorities, Amaon said.

Family members said the girls spent time at Dutton's house because he was a trusted family friend. They believe that is when the alleged abuse occurred last year.

“It’s an emotional rollercoaster,” one of the girl’s mothers said Friday. “This is someone who was known to our family for years, in our home and their home. Relationships were built.”

fatchanceimwrong - Wonder no more! While my husband who graduated from GHS in 1984 meets the description (same first & last name, age, area, father of two & employed) it is NOT the same guy. Doesn't do much in the way of PR though!

Well he wasn't some scary, homeless and single man. He was married, employed, father of two and a family friend. Big mistake is letting people like you make comments on things you know nothing about!!!!!It is the job of the parents to protect but sorry not all parents can see through the evil and manipulative minds of child predators. Why not pray for these children instead of judge the parents?

Why did the parents allow the girls to spend time with this man even though he was a family friend? Big mistake and this is why these kind of things happen. Parents protect your children from fathers, uncles, neighbors and strangers. Its your job and no one else. We don't live with you.

If the evidence proves this man did this to these girls, then the courts should give him 60 years in prison. I hope the girls will receive some counseling.

OH just stop letting your daughters spend the night over there unless they agree for the dad to stay at your house. How crazy can you be to think you would "know" the guy is ok. Are you smoking crack? You never know, the guys that seem nice are the worst of all,and plus, their son or some friend might come over at the last minute. NO SLEEP OVERS for daughters!!! I let mine sleep over at our church friend's house. Years later she tells me she was meeting up with boyfriends there that I wouldn't allow.

It appears that after making bond, he made a run for it. He was not arrested in NC.
