Johnston authorities trying to determine how Benson baby died

— Johnston County authorities said Tuesday that they are awaiting autopsy results on a 4-month-old baby who died over the weekend before proceeding with their investigation.

Jeslynn Allen was found unresponsive Saturday in the bedroom of a home on Turlington Drive outside of Benson. Paramedics took the baby to Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators are trying to determine how she died.

    I agree! I certainly hope this poor baby didnt die in a neglectful way! natural causes and/or SIDS would make this a much more relieving case! praying for the family at the time of their awful loss!

    Lets just hope it wasn't due to neglict or abuse....which sadly is often the case.

    I can't begin to say how my heart breaks for the family. There is no pain like that of losing a child. There is just nothing to say.
