John Boyega says Finn is 'now a big deal' in new Star Wars film 'The Last Jedi'

In “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” hero Finn joked with Han Solo about being a “big deal” with the Resistance, even though he was actually in hiding and in no way an actual big deal.
All of that is about to change.
Actor John Boyega, who plays the First Order-turned-Resistance fighter, told reporters on Tuesday that his character will be a “big deal” in the upcoming eighth Star Wars film, “The Last Jedi,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
“The funny thing is, between VII and VIII, Finn’s now a big deal! He is now a big deal. Imagine that – you get taken down by Kylo Ren,” Boyega told EW during the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida. “Think about what the gossip’s going to be like in the Resistance. ‘Oh, that’s the guy that got slashed down by Kylo?’”
Boyega acted out some fake conversations his character has with people in the Resistance following the events of “The Force Awakens.”
“‘How you doing, guys? How you doing?’” he said. “‘Yeah, I was there. Then the Falcon picked me up… Oh yeah, I knew Han Solo by the way. We were pretty close.’ All that kind of stuff. They have a fan moment when they see him.”

Boyega will star alongside Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley in the upcoming Star Wars film, which hits theaters on December 15 this year.
Plot details are uncertain, but early trailers suggest that legendary character Luke Skywalker may want to put an end to the Jedi order, the Deseret News reported.
Everyone's gearing up for the film's release. Vanity Fair recently released its new set of covers for the film, one of which includes the aforementioned Finn.
