For more than 10 years, I have been fighting a losing battle. The battle to get my daughter to eat!

Don't get me wrong, she eats...but poorly. Truly I thought she would have grown out of being a picky eater by now.

Instead it is a struggle each and every day.

Everyone in my family knows about my daughter's fussy ways. When it comes to advice I have received it all over the years.

Everyone seems to have a suggestion for getting her to eat foods like meat and vegetables! Some have even gone so far as to blame me and my husband for her pickiness!

The thing is, she knows what she likes, and even though I have begged her to try new foods, she is reluctant. She would prefer to stick to vanilla ice cream and chicken nuggets!

It doesn't help that she also is allergic to certain foods ... like peanuts and all tree nuts!

Recently, I stumbled upon an article in the Huffington Post about picky eaters and a recent study on children with a fear of new foods. It seems there is a reason behind all this pickiness . heredity!

Now, I know I am not picky when it comes to food! It must be my husband's fault because he, too, is quite fussy when it comes to food.

So maybe I should stop this food fight and accept my daughter for who she is. Still just because I am her mom I will never stop encouraging her to try new things!!

After all, that is what life is all about!
