Jackie Hyland: Celebrating 20 years of marriage

I just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary! Twenty years! Wow! Where oh where, did all that time go?

To be honest, I can not even wrap my head around it, because I certainly don't feel 20 years older. Alas, I am!

To celebrate the big milestone, we decided to go back to where we honeymooned 20 years ago - Aruba. Instead of just the two of us, this time, we decided to bring our daughters along too.

I just love being with my girls and this was a chance for the four of us to get away and have some fun without the pressures of work and school. And boy, did we have fun! We did so many fun activities together from paddle boarding to snorkeling and tubing! Most importantly for me, we made some new memories and fulfilled my dream of bringing my girls to Aruba one day!

I feel so blessed that my husband and I have been together for 20 years, considering our demanding careers and our five moves!

People ask me all the time what our secret is. There is no secret really. Marriage is hard work, and we work at it everyday! We love and respect each other, we are best friends and we have fun. Yes, we have been blessed.

I look forward to the next 20! I just can't wait!
