Raleigh, N.C. — Summer-like temperatures returned to the Triangle on Monday and are expected to stay for a little while.
“We’re going to fry over the next couple of days,” WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.
Partly clouds skies and highs in the upper 90s are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
But there is slight relief coming. A cold front moving in from the Midwest will bring slightly cooler temperatures along with showers Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The front has caused severe weather in the Midwest but it is unknown if the Triangle will experience the same, Maze said.
Temperatures are expected to dip slightly to the upper 80s Thursday and Friday along with possible thunderstorms.
"Summertime is back and you’re definitely going to feel it over the next few days," WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said.
