Iredell authorities destroy $2.5M in marijuana

Posted August 23, 2010

— Investigators in Iredell County seized more than $2.5 million worth of marijuana from some woods Friday, the sheriff's office said Monday.

Authorities were called to the area after the property's owner, who lives in South Carolina, found numerous plants about a half-mile from Woodleaf Road near a creek named Bell Branch.

The sheriff's office said more than 980 plants were recovered from three clearings in the woods. The plants were destroyed on-site.

There are no leads in the case, authorities said.

The profit projections from taxes on dope is but a "PIPE" dream anyway. Kind-of like the one NC inserted in ua by a proctologist calling it the Education Lottery.

If it was taxed instead of destroyed, how much money would go into the state's coffers?

Investigators failed to mention that during the burn process there was uncontrolled laughter, 47 dozen donuts and 3 large pizza'a were eaten by one officer alone.

Maybe if we had a legalized marijuana industry, we could create new jobs and help repay all the economic stimulus debt...just saying...
