Investigators: Sampson County man stole ATVs, killed dog

Mount Olive, N.C. — A 28-year-old Sampson County man killed one dog and injured another while stealing two ATVs from a Mount Olive home in May, according to Wayne County authorities.
Adam Wayne Outlaw, of 5508 Dave Bright Road, Turkey, has been charged with larceny, possession of stolen goods and cruelty to animals.
According to investigators, Outlaw stole two ATVs from a Mount Olive home on May 21. During the theft, two dogs in a neighbor's yard started barking. Outlaw killed one of the dogs and severely injured the other, Wayne County deputies said.
Outlaw was in the Wayne County jail early Tuesday under a $163,000 bond.
One of the two ATVs was later recovered in Greene County.
