Posted October 13, 2011

— An inmate in the Wayne County Detention Center became ill and died Thursday morning, authorities said.

The State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to review the incident.

wiz...You should research alcohol withdrawal. That's one of the main reason that people with the disease of alcohlism need to have a safe medical detox. Unfortunately, some people do die from alcohol withdrawal and age is not a factor. Im not speculating that this was the cause of this young lady's death. Im just trying to let people know the dangers of alcohol withdrawal.

    LB...The inmate was a female...Wink....wink...

21 y/o people do not drop dead for no reason...Some of these comments make me laugh saying DRUGS..Or alcohol withdrawal...or poison...etc...

This young lady most likely had some sort of a medical condition being the cause of her death...I would think...I'm sure the official cause will be made public asap....

Some people are just 'Eat Up'....

My questions woul d be how long did it take help to get to the person and had they been complaining a long time or not before some help did arrive? Not enough details here to form an opinion but I hope the man didn't suffer, and my heart goes out to his family, no matter if he was in jail at the time. Let it be checked out first and see what happened and what caused hte death..

No it should not be a lawsuit if nothing illegal or against policy was done to her. I love how the first thoughts are that it is the jails fault, when the vast majority of incidents in jails are not anthing the jail or jailers did wrong...but it does sound a lot better to blame bad old police and jails than a criminal.

Judging by the timeframe of death, rather than swallowing something beforehand, she had something in her rear-end that burst.

Fits the toxicity timeline for death via liver-transference.

itsjustasmith...Anyone that gets two DWI's in a seven year period has to serve a minimun of seven days in jail. It doesn't mean that she violated her probation.
