He jumped Detention Officer John Russell Beamon in the day room during a routine headcount.

I sure hope that that inmate got a ride to the hospital following the assault on the officer. It's just amazing how much injury can occur when you assault a detention officer. If I was there, the coroner probably would have had extra work that day.

Why would bond be an issue? THAT DELINQUENT DO NOT BELONG IN SOCIETY!!!! Then to assault an officer while in custody???????

I say send these hard criminals to war since they want to be so ..... and let them fight over there. They will come back "CHANGED" that is if they come back.

His bond should have been higher. I had to call Animal control on his brother for allowing two dogs to attack a helpless kitten. Every time the kitten would try to climb a tree, he would take a stick and knock him down and stand by and watch while the dogs attack it.

I didn't care if his mom or whoever got upset. I called. Fortunately the kitten wasn't harm too badly and the officer was able to take him.

But what struck me when I asked the officer about filing charges against this young man, he basically told me that alot of cases like that are not even worth the time. I guess because he was a juvenile.

Teachermom, I'm not an expert in the law but sounds like to me this "child" was breaking into people's houses, then physically or sexually assaulting those who live there. Where would you suggest they put this criminal if he had done this to your kids or students? And why only a $25,000 bond after all these charges? sheesh...
