In honor of Children's Book Week, independent book stores across the country are participating in the first Indies First Storytime Day on May 17.
Here in the Triangle, both The Regulator Bookshop in Durham and Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh will feature readings and events for kids.

Here's what's scheduled:

At The Regulator, authors Heather McCuiston, Jackie Ogburn, and Stephanie Green will be on hand to read from some of their favorite classic children’s books as well as some of their own publications. The special storytime for kids ages 4 to 7 is 11 a.m., May 17.

At Quail Ridge, Corduroy, the costumed character from the classic children's book, pays a special visit. (Bring your camera!) Children's authors Stephanie Greene and Julie Fortenberry will share some of their favorite children's stories (by other authors) during storytime. Visitors are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite children's book character. There's also a raffle for a bag of gooides. Designed for all ages. It's at 3 p.m., May 17.
