— Immigration advocates pounded more than just the pavement in downtown Raleigh Friday afternoon. They raised their voices and banged on pots and pans to bring attention to their concerns.

Demonstrators began in Moore Square and advanced to the sidewalk across from the Governor’s Mansion.

“The governor that we have now is writing laws against immigrants, which is just so unfair and also unfair to our president to deny his executive order for the immigrants,” said demonstrator Jean Busby.

President Barack Obama’s executive order would prevent the deportation of millions of working illegal immigrants in the United States.

The demonstrators concern is that Gov. Pat McCrory joined more than 20 other states suing the president over the executive order. The immigration advocates and their supporters are calling on McCrory to pull out of the lawsuit.

“We can work together with the government and politics to find a better way to live together,” said demonstrator Jorge Torres. “We are a lot of people.”

Organizers say they want to educate the public about immigration rights and the economic impact immigrants have on North Carolina.

The headline should properly read: ILLEGAL Immigration advocates march in downtown Raleigh. They need to get in the legal immigrant application line and wait like my ancestors had to do.

First, I do volunteer quite a bit of my time, thanks. And second, you know nothing about me - and you call me a troll. LMAO! I would be careful calling folks trolls. Take you own advice.

Ths is the frst grouo of immigrants that do not want to be like Americans. They do not want to adopt Americam ideals, they want America to bend to their way. First you do not have any respect for America, as the 1st thing you have done in our country is to break the law. What we have defined in these last few years is the most evil or ignorant individual group in America are whites who voted for Obama.

One statement sums up the tone of Obama's Presidency: "Executive Order to prevent the deportation of working illegal immigrants". A blatant contempt for laws in place to protect our society. Why weren't the demonstrators at work? Maybe they weren't as "working" as portrayed but were demonstrating to protect the Government gravy train of benefits illegals are NOT entitled to receive.

Legal or illegal ways to entire the United States. Let's focus on the illegal …. no background checks, no health screening, no tax base ( in some cases ). Now let's mention crimes committed by illegals ….

Want to come to America, do it the legal way or the United States government should start enforcing laws that are already on the books …. which calls for deportation. End of story !!!!!

Why don't YOU do something more productive with your time like helping the homeless (working a shift at a shelter, or food bank) that could really make a difference rather than compulsively trolling message boards at news websites?

Immigration Advocates - why don't you find a way to spend your time in a more productive manner, like helping the homeless (working a shift at a shelter, or food bank) that could really make a difference. LEGAL immigrants are certainly welcomed in NC; ILLEGAL ones are NOT!

Not any longer. A law passed recently that does not allow Sanctuary cities. Take care. See below.
