Illegal Alien to Serve at Least 20 Years for Attempted Murder

RALEIGH, N.C. — An illegal alien convicted of beating a woman with a baseball bat, then shooting her will spend at least 20 years in prison.

Juan Barbosa was on the run for three years and captured June 11 after being featured on the Fox 50 television show NC Wanted.

The U.S. Marshals Service Violent Task Force and Raleigh Police Department made the arrest.

Barbosa was also found guilty Friday of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon with intent of inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon, first-degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.
