IKEA planning Cary location

IKEA

Attention IKEA fans! The Swedish home furnishing company announced today that they are planning a 359,000-square-foot location adjacent to Cary Towne Center.

They are hoping to open as early as Summer 2020. For those who like a freebie, shoppers can enjoy free coffee or hot tea at their Restaurant.

The area near Cary Towne Center is becoming a hot spot for new stores including the upcoming Wegmans store. There is already a Harris Teeter across from Cary Towne Center.

If you are an IKEA shopper, what do you think about shopping there?

watchhillgirl - very interesting point about the traffic. You are so right about the amount of traffic that already exists in that area. Will be interesting to see how to handle it.

Love Ikea, but I worry about the parking and access in Cary. That area is already pretty congested, and this will make it worse. If you have been to the one in Charlotte, it is like all roads lead to Ikea and it is always busy, but it is out of town.

I am SOOOO excited to hear this news! I have been shopping Ikea since they opened their first US store in NJ years ago. Great style for great prices. When I have access to a computer, I'll add more.
