If you happen to find my coupon organizer....

Posted May 9, 2015

There comes a time in the lives of many couponers, when the unthinkable happens. Yes, I lost my coupon organizer today. I am still in shock so please ignore any incoherent rambling that may occur in this post. Consider this a public service announcement on what not to do with your coupon organizer.

After teaching a lovely group of couponers at the Smithfield Aquatic and Recreation center this afternoon, I headed out to my car loaded down with all the stuff I lug to and from classes. It was quite windy and a storm was approaching so I hurried to get everything into the car. I plopped my beloved coupon organizer on top of my vehicle so I could open the door and then I promptly forgot about it...until a couple hours after I arrived home.

I immediately called the rec. center hoping that some kind soul had found it in the parking lot and returned it to the front desk. No such luck. The nice young lady who answered the phone took my information and promised to call if she found it. After sulking in my office, remembering all the good savings I had enjoyed with my little pink and black 3-ring zipper buddy, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I trekked back the 23.5 miles to the scene of the incident, dragging both of my kids and one of their very patient boyfriends. I figured that 3 additional eyes looking in the ditches along the road would be a good thing. OK, the truth is that I wasn't about to leave my young teen and her boyfriend alone in the house. I'm one of those moms.

By the time we got to the center, it was closed and I had not received a call, so I am fairly certain that they did not find my precious organizer. And we did not find it on the way home. And it POURED during the trip so I am pretty sure that even it we did find it swimming in a ditch somewhere, it would be unsalvageable.

Clearly the moral of the story is: always keep your coupon organizer handcuffed to your wrist, at all times, no matter what.

So, if you happen to find my coupon organizer, I am offering a reward including Smart Shopper chip clips and some free rice. At this time, I can't really offer you any good coupons.....

Hey Faye, sorry about your lost binder. However, every cloud has a silver lining. So, now you can use this as an excuse to create the ultimate Faye binder 2.0. Everything you hated about your old binder, now you can change! Everything you loved, you can recreate in a better way. You can make a stronger, faster, 6 million dollar binder :-)

Oh, no, sorry for your binder loss - 'so' easy to put something on top of car while opening door, etc. Hubby put a chocolate milkshake on top of car while putting our son in his car seat many years ago - yes, chocolate milkshake ran down all the windows!!

Hopefully, someone will still find your binder and do the right thing - 'before' the coupons expire!!

Faye, email and let me know where and when we can meet. Just cleaned out my binder with lots of coupons for you -- too many to mail. Hugs

Thanks again, everyone!! So far, no sign of the disappearing binder. The rec center has not seen it and no calls from a good samaritan. Maybe it'll show up in another state 2000 miles away in 3 years like some lost pets you hear of!

Holly - definitely put your contact info in your binder!

Oh Faye - how sad! I too am hoping someone found it before the rain and will return it to you. Hopefully your sweet daughters were extra kind to you today to cheer your heart.

Oh NO! I'm so sorry, and hoping that someone will find it and call you :-(

I am so sorry Faye. Please let me know if I can send you some coupons. Would love to return the favor after all of the money you have saved my family. I have learned something from your post, I need to put my contact information in the front of my binder.

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your binder. I've left mine more than once in Harris Teeter and so far have been fortunate enough that it was at customer service. I am hoping someone finds your and returns it soon. And please let us share our coupons with you. You've saved us all so much money that it would be a pleasure to help you out!

I am so sorry! My mom has done this a couple of times, once with a gift for someone & once with her purse. Hopefully, it will still turn up. Maybe someone got it before the rain & will call you. If not, start fresh. Hang in there!

I feel your pain Faye. I have left my binder at the stores a couple of times but was lucky enough to have it turned into customer service. Recently during super doubles I left it in the bathroom and when I realized what I had done, went back and it was still where I left it! Here's hoping you get your binder back soon!
