GODWIN, N.C. — Part of Interstate 95 was closed in Cumberland County on Wednesday morning after a fuel tanker caught fire.

The road was closed near Exit 65 (NC-82/Godwin-Falcon Road) near Godwin as a result.

The fire burned the wheels of the vehicle. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished before flames could grow. The tanker was hauled off to the side of the road so traffic could pass.

At 7:30 a.m., the ramp at the Wade Stedman Road exit reopened after a closure.
