DUNN, N.C. — Northbound and southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for more than two hours Wednesday evening near Dunn after a truck towing a boat lost control and hit another car, authorities said.

According to authorities, the driver of a truck traveling south lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a Toyota Corolla before hitting the guardrail just after 5 p.m. The 30-foot boat ended up in the northbound lanes, near the Hodges Chapel Road exit, and split in half.

One person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

According to troopers, the driver of the truck was charged with failure to secure his load. His name was not immediately available.
