RALEIGH, N.C. — Work begins Monday night on repaving part of Interstate 540 in Raleigh.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation said the milling and resurfacing will happen overnight and that there will be no lane closures between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.

There could, however, be some ramp closures and detours, the DOT said, because crews will also be doing some shoulder reconstruction.

The $8.4 million project, which stretches from N.C. Highway 50 (Exit 9) to Triangle Town Center Boulevard (Exit 17), is expected to be complete by Nov. 15.
