Amazon box

Amazon is celebrating their 20th anniversary on Wednesday, July 15, with a 1-day sale that is supposed to rival Black Friday sales. According to Amazon.com, the sale will offer "exclusive deals from electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more."

The catch is that you have to be an Amazon Prime member to get these deals. The annual membership fee is $99 but they are offering a 30-Day free trial if you want to sign up and take advantage of the sales.

The discounts begin at 12 AM on July 15 and there will be new deals as often as every 10 minutes.

Amazon is also offering giveaways on Wednesday through the Prime Photo and Prime Music services including Amazon gift card giveaways of $10,000 and $25,000 to a few lucky winners.

Walmart Sale

Walmart is even getting in on the action by offering their own big sale on Wednesday. They will be lowering prices on over 2,000 products and will also offer "special atomic deals." They have not released the details about the special deals at this time.

In addition, Walmart lowered the minimum Free Shipping requirement from $50 to $35 and you can now get unlimited free shipping for $50 per year. The pilot program offers 3-day or sooner shipping. You can see more information on their website.

Are you an Amazon Prime member? Will you be shopping at Amazon on Wednesday?

Thanks You Faye for the details about the Amazon sale and the Walmart event as well.
    Decisions !! Decisons !!
We have been weighing the PROS and CONS since yesterday !
I might do the 30 day free Amazon Prime just to see the deals depending on the cancellation "fine print " but I really do not see the value of it for me in the long run - my packages all ship free and are paid for mostly with Swagbucks.
Most items I would buy tomorrow would not earn Swagbucks ( boo ).
The same items are at Walmart - all items earn Swagbucks . I can use Swagbucks ,SavingsCatcher & energizer ecards to pay for them and they ship free to store! I would not have to deal with RUDE or no show delivery persons ( how can they suddenly not find me after more than 20 years at same house ??) and I would not have to go door to door hunting my packages .

RFB, I have a bread machine that I love because it has a large capacity (trust me, get one with a large, 2 lb capacity) but have never actually baked the bread in it. I just use it to prep the dough and then either free-form bake or put it into a loaf pan. I am on my second Panasonic SD-YD250. The first one lasted with 10 years of abuse AND being thrown over a 6 ft privacy fence onto gravel by the lovely UPS guy when it was delivered. Love it.

Let us know what you end up with!

Yes, we have Amazon Prime - looking for an electric meat grinder - will be checking to see what, (if any) grinders are offered for a great price.

RALEIGHFOODBLOGGER, I have had a Breadman Ultimate machine for several years and it makes great bread! Before that, had a Ziroushi (spelling ?), and was not happy with it - may have been a 'fluke' as it was highly recommended to me - returned it (bread would not get done in the center). Good luck!

Jdouglas- it's funny, I've been pretty much low carb my whole adult life (and rarely ate bread) so I have no idea! I've been eating more of a Mediterranean Diet lately, and am excited to make my own whole wheat bread. The Cuisinart one looks nice! But I'd be fine with any brand if it's a great deal :-)

Ooooh, RFB - new kitchen toys! :) Do you have a machine picked out?

I was just wondering if anyone had heard more on this! I'm ready (and LOVE my Amazon Prime Membership). Fingers crossed for a really great deal on a bread maker!!! :-)
