HUGE Amazon Prime and Walmart sales TODAY!

Posted July 15, 2015

Amazon box

Amazon is celebrating their 20th anniversary on Wednesday, July 15, with a 1-day sale that is supposed to rival Black Friday sales. According to Amazon.com, the sale will offer "exclusive deals from electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more."

The catch is that you have to be an Amazon Prime member to get these deals. The annual membership fee is $99 but they are offering a 30-Day free trial if you want to sign up and take advantage of the sales.

The discounts begin at 12 AM on July 15 and there will be new deals as often as every 10 minutes.

Amazon is also offering giveaways on Wednesday through the Prime Photo and Prime Music services including Amazon gift card giveaways of $10,000 and $25,000 to a few lucky winners.

Walmart Sale

Walmart is even getting in on the action by offering their own big sale on Wednesday. They will be lowering prices on over 2,000 products and will also offer "special atomic deals." They have not released the details about the special deals at this time.

In addition, Walmart lowered the minimum Free Shipping requirement from $50 to $35 and you can now get unlimited free shipping for $50 per year. The pilot program offers 3-day or sooner shipping. You can see more information on their website.

Are you an Amazon Prime member? Will you be shopping at Amazon on Wednesday?

Jdouglas- oh man! I missed the Cuisinart! Oh well, I can easily kneed and make my own :-)

Summerlovin, as those close to me will attest... ahem... I am completely hopeless when it comes to anything TV/DVD/etc. related. I have never watched a DVD simply because I don't know how. The Fire Stick sounds like just what you've been looking for -- do let us know what you think when you get it, and if it would be easy enough for non-tech types like me to figure it out!

RFB, Yes, WS is an old fave of mine too! :) Did you get a bread maker though? I thought I saw a couple of good deals earlier on the Cuisinart and the Panasonic?

    Question about the firestick -
Can it be used for NETFLIX, HULU and other services or do you have to use AMAZON only ?? Maybe good Chrsitmas gift for nephews or others ??
    Thanks !!
PS Some laptops and game consoles can play Blu-Ray discs so no need to buy separate Blu-Ray player .

JDOUGLAS13 - I don't have cable and didn't want to buy another dvd player when mine works perfectly well. But unfortunately, no new apps are showing up on my 5 or 6 yr old dvd player. Thus...the fire stick. I've been wanting something like this for quite some time (chromecast, roku, etc) For $25 I'll try it out. I already have my subscriptions to netflix and hulu and I can watch those thru my dvd player. I currently have an old, old computer rigged up to my tv to watch stuff from amazon prime. And because it's old, sometimes it likes to go nuts.

Can't wait to get the fire stick. Got the notification that it has already shipped!

LOSLTP- I guess there are some great deals, but it's a bit overwhelming to me with all the stuff listed. I've found it easier to search by categories. On the other hand, I ended up just buying some skechers sandals that I've been wanting (as a "consolation prize" to myself lol) and upon check out they discounted $10 off my $35 order, and it was not a listed deal. So... I'm even more confused, but happy to get a deal today :-)

    Faye- I agree!!!

Jdouglas- I'll have to check Williams Sonoma out. I just love that store!

I think I'll probably wait until this year's Black Friday deals to try to get a mixer (last year was an artificial Christmas tree from Home Depot lol!)

That Amazon fire stick sounds interesting. Maybe it will eliminate the need for me to figure out how to set my my dvd/dvr machine. ;)

RFB, this may sound odd, but any time I'm buying an expensive kitchen electronic item, I get it at Williams Sonoma. They run good sales often enough, and if anything ever stops working, they'll take it back and refund or replace. No time limit. JMHO, but today's KA mixers are not the ones from 20 or 30 years ago that you couldn't kill back when Hobart was in the picture. The ones today are poorly made and have lots of problems. Have you considered a Viking?

I am disappointed too and I LOVE Amazon most of the time even if I do not earn Swagbucks with every purchase !
The item I most desperately want today is higher priced than yesterday !!
As for the Kitchen Aide - You might try QVC. They usually has a very good selection and bonuses ( coupon for free attachment sets and rebates came with my BFF's last year )
Also MACY's - they are always having a sale and possible coupons . The complete Kitchen Aide kitchen ( mixer with almost all attachment - no ice cream maker ) was a crazy price during the holidays late last year and earlier this year .

    RFB - that is pitiful!

SummerlovinWinterhater and kristinschoolfield - glad you both found a good deal on the fire stick!

Feeling meh on it all! I've been checking out a few deals, and not much that I'm needing. I just waited for the countdown on the kitchenaid mixer and when I clicked add to cart to see price, it kept not working. Then it finally said that the wait list was even full (in like a minute!) I still don't even have a clue what the price would have even been lol!
