House fire damages several cars at Milwaukie dealership

Posted July 11

— A large house fire caused significant damage to a neighboring car dealership in Milwaukie Tuesday morning.

Clackamas firefighters were called to the scene in the early morning hours near McLoughlin Boulevard and Holly Avenue.

The structure was reportedly vacant and bordered the family-owned Volstice Auto car dealership. Crews said accessing the fire was challenging due to a fence and several cars parked on the property. Firefighters said they had to rip out the fence to get to the flames.

The vacant home was completely destroyed. Dealership owner Seamus Lennon said 13 car vehicles were burned and several others have paint damage.

No injuries were reported and fire investigators are on the scene working to determine the cause.

Lennon said his surveillance cameras captured the intensity of the fire.

""It was pretty intense, a really hot fire. It seemed to have burned for a good 40 minutes or so before it was even called in," he said.

Although the cause is unknown, fire crews said they have responded to multiple fires at the home. The owner also believes someone has been consistently staying in the home.
