Hot, humid weather creeps back in Tuesday

Raleigh, N.C. — Heat and humidity will gradually work their ways back into the Triangle on Tuesday before returning in full force later in the week.
Temperatures could creep back into the 90s on Tuesday after a cooler Monday. As the day progresses, the dew point—the indicator of humidity—will also begin to rise slowly.
"The hot, sticky (weather) is just to our south and it will gradually start to push on in to the area as we head through the day today," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
Despite the coming heat, most of Tuesday will be clear of clouds and rain. The chance of thunderstorms rises on Wednesday, though, to 50 percent between noon and 4 p.m. and persists into Thursday and Friday.
But over the weekend, the hot, muggy weather could shut off and the rain clouds could roll back to bring a gorgeous two days. Saturday's high temperature will be around 78 degrees, which is 10 degrees below normal.
"Right now, it looks like we're going to clear out for the weekend," Gardner said. "Things could change between now and then, but right now the weekend looks really pretty."
