Hopscotch Music Festival is taking over downtown Raleigh next week and to help you sift through the tons of shows, Out and About will be picking some "must-see" bands. We also asked our friends at Potluck Records for their picks.

  • Califone at the Longview Center on Sept. 7
  • Gross Ghost at Raleigh City Plaza on Sept. 6
  • Kurt Vile and the Violators at Lincoln Theater on Sept. 5
  • Lady Lamb The Beekeeper at Fletcher Opera Theater on Sept. 6
  • Schooner at Deep South on Sept. 7 - Day and night parties that day.
  • Low at Fletcher Opera Theater on Sept. 7
  • The Human Eyes at Kennedy Theater on Sept. 7 and playing a day party at Tir na Nog on Sept. 5
  • The Breeders at City Plaza on Sept. 7
  • Whatever Brains at Kings Barcade on Sept. 6

Tickets for Hopscotch are still available. Keep in mind that some show locations are 21 and up (Deep South the Bar, The Hive at the Busy Bee Cafe and Slim's Downtown Distillery). All other venues are 18 and up, and Raleigh City Plaza is open to all ages.
