Hopscotch day parties: Must-see bands

Our music writer Greg Hutchinson gives us his picks for the must-see bands playing day parties during this year's Hopscotch Music Festival.


Valient Thorr – CAM Raleigh. Party starts at noon and Valient Thorr is expected to take the stage just before 4 p.m. (Another notable act during this day show - Toon and the Real Laww out of Durham at 12:30 p.m.)

I was totally Destroying It at Rebus Works. This powerpop band out of Chapel Hill plays during the SHOPscotch Arts, Ears and Eats show. The event starts at noon. More bands playing this another day party here on Saturday. 


Goner at Rebus Works. Listen to this indie rock band during Rebus' day party - SHOPscotch arts, Ears and Eats! 

Mandolin Orange at Raleigh Times. See them at this restaurant and bar's Afternoon Delight day party. Expected to go on just before 4 p.m. 

Organos at Lincoln Theatre. See them during this Food Truck Rodeo day party.
