Hopscotch announces Design Festival

The Hopscotch Design Festival will feature more than 25 sessions spanning graphic design, urban planning, music, food, film and technology.

RALEIGH, N.C.Hopscotch Music Festival has teamed up with Raleigh-based design and community building firm New King to launch the first Hopscotch Design Festival, Hopscotch announced via its website Wednesday. 

The Design Festival will run Wednesday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept. 4, at various downtown venues. There will be more than 25 sessions from presenters who work in graphic design, urban planning, architecture, music, food, film and technology. The two days will be filled with interactive sessions, workshops and parties. The event is designed to blend seamlessly into the Hopscotch Music Festival which starts Thursday, Sept. 4 and ends Saturday, Sept. 6. 

The Hopscotch Design Festival lineup will be announced in mid-April, but expect some announcements before then on participating speakers. 

There will be two-day wristbands available for the Design Festival and a discounted "add-on" wristbands for fans who purchase a VIP or three-day Hopscotch Music wristband. Look for more ticket info next week. 

Hopscotch Music Festival tickets go on sale next week. Users subscribed to the Hopscotch email newsletter will get a special pre-sale code to buy tickets starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27.  A limited number of VIP ($180) and three-day wristbands ($125) will be available. 

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, March 1 at 10 a.m. VIP wristbands will be $205 and three-day wristbands $150.
