HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Hope Mills police are searching for three men who robbed Diamonds & Gold jewelry store in the Millstone Shopping Center Monday afternoon.

Police have identified one of the suspects as Stanley Sims Jr., 30, of 5300 Bayleaf Dr. in Fayetteville. The identities of the other two men are unknown.

The men drove to the store in a silver Dodge Charger, police said, and one man stayed in the car while the other two went into the business around 12:30 p.m. Once inside, the two masked men threatened to break the glass jewelry cases with a hammer.

After stuffing the jewelry into pillow cases, the men sped away into the LaFayette Village residential area and crashed into vehicles, mailboxes and a fence post, police said.
