— An 18-year-old Hope Mills man faces sexual exploitation charges after authorities said he distributed videos depicting children engaged in sex acts.

Toby Loring Batton, of 807 Makay Court, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with 10 counts each of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.

Investigators said Batton possessed and distributed several videos of children ages 3 to 15 engaged in sexual activity with adults and other minors.

All of you who posted these comments, with all respect, o not know Toby. He wouldn't do this and I know that. And for those who think that me defending this makes me twisted well you are wrong. this is wrong. Toby is not that guy so don't let some newspaper article that doesn't even give enough information warp your thoughts.

Anyone who defends this at all has to be twisted themselves!!!!

wow... I am shocked at these responses. "He's 18?!" ok it also says some of the children were as young as 3????! He obviously had an adult who taught him to do this but he is still dangerous to children.

bill0, it says he DISTRIBUTED it, he didn't just have it.

"He's 18? Good, verify the age, verify the act, flip the switch."

Seriously? He apparently just had the video - he didn't make it or participate in any of the acts. Having pictures of something disgusting and actually doing something disgusting are pretty far apart.

In fact, in NC, an 18 year old can have sex with a 15 year old and it isn't a crime. If an 18 year old has pictures of a 15 year old having sex with someone else, then it is a crime. Pretty weird law.
