— A Hope Mills man has been charged in connection with alleged sex crimes involving a 17-year-old girl, authorities said Wednesday.

Stephen Craig Lewis, 20, of 6515 Causeway St., was arrested early Wednesday at this home and was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sex offense. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $75,000 bond.

The girl told investigators that Lewis forced himself on her when she went to his home Tuesday evening to watch television.
