FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office investigators on Wednesday charged a Hope Mills man after he allegedly exposed himself to children at a school bus stop.

Darrick Freeman, 46, of 4889 Grays Creek Church Road, was charged with felony and misdemeanor indecent exposure. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $4,000 bond.

Between August and October 2008, Freeman exposed and touched himself as he stood nude at the front door of his home while students waited outside for their school bus to arrive, authorities said. Witnesses told investigators that Freeman walked around his home in the nude with the lights on inside and his curtains open.

Freeman is a registered sex offender.
