Homicide unit investigating after woman is found dead in Fayetteville hotel

Fayetteville police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a hotel room Monday night.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a hotel room Monday night.

Authorities said the woman, identified as Alyssa Mota, 23, of the 2100 block of Lakeridge Drive, was found unresponsive by an acquaintance inside a room at the Comfort Inn at 1922 Skibo Road at about 9:35 p.m.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body will be sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh to determine cause of death, police said.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating the death.
