RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was found dead in his residence at 1721 St. Albans Drive in Raleigh early Monday.

Police said they responded to a report of gunshots just before 4 a.m. and found Adrian Levon Pugh, 32. Police did not say how he died but are calling the case a homicide.

A witness called 911 to report hearing three or four gunshots and seeing a car heading away from the area, according to a recording released Monday.

A neighbor said there was a party at the residence Sunday night, with people drinking and loud music.

An employee of a nearby business said he was surprised to learn of the homicide.

"This neighborhood is usually pretty quiet," Matthew Manly said. "There ain't really anything that goes on."
