Durham man shot, killed walking home from work

Deputies with the Durham County Sheriff's Office said Eric Ray, 33, of 3212 Fayetteville Street was fatally shot in the 3700 block of Angier Avenue.

Homicide investigation closes Angier Avenue in Durham
DURHAM, N.C. — Angier Avenue was closed in Durham for several hours Thursday night after a man was found shot to death.

Deputies with the Durham County Sheriff's Office said Eric Ray, 33, of 3212 Fayetteville Street was fatally shot in the 3700 block of Angier Avenue. He was walking home from work at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

Authorities said there was no known motive for the shooting.

An investigation is underway and deputies are searching for a burgundy sedan seen leaving the area after the shooting. An update early Friday morning said the car was a Nissan Altima or Sentra, but the Durham County Sheriff's Office later said the car was not a Nissan—the make and model are unknown.
