Authorities said the road was closed between Glover Road and Wrenn Road while officers with the Criminal Investigations Division collected evidence related to the case.

— Angier Avenue was closed in Durham for several hours Thursday night after a man was found shot to death.

Deputies with the Durham County Sheriff's Office said Eric Ray, 33, of 3212 Fayetteville Street was fatally shot in the 3700 block of Angier Avenue. He was walking home from work at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

Authorities said there was no known motive for the shooting.

An investigation is underway and deputies are searching for a burgundy sedan seen leaving the area after the shooting. An update early Friday morning said the car was a Nissan Altima or Sentra, but the Durham County Sheriff's Office later said the car was not a Nissan—the make and model are unknown.

Anybody with information is asked to call the Durham County Sheriff's Office at 919-560-0900 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
