For the homeschoolers out there ...

Members of the Lighthouse Christian Homeschool Association will host a sale from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, featuring all manner of used curriculum, books, games and toys. Admission to the event, which is open to all buyers, is free.

The sale is at Faith Baptist Church, 249 Holden Rd., Youngsville.

The association, a nonprofit, is made up of more than 200 families in the Wake Forest, Youngsville and north Raleigh area, according to its website. The group aims to support and encourage fellow homeschoolers with events, programs and other activities.

The group also is hosting an introduction to homeschooling information meeting for those interested in starting homeschooling in the fall or learning more about home education. The program is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., July 11, in Wake Forest. Check the association's website for more information, including details on pre-registering for it to ensure there are enough materials for all participants.
