Homemade bombs rock Robeson neighborhood

Posted December 15, 2011

— Two homemade bombs exploded in a Robeson County neighborhood early Tuesday, destroying two vehicles, authorities said Thursday.

The Molotov cocktail-type devices were used to set fire to a 2000 Chevrolet Impala and a 1971 Dodge pickup owned by Paul Martin, of Tawdry Lane, authorities said. Deputies recovered a third, unexploded device.

Authorities said the incident was an act of retaliation against a relative of Martin's who had been living with him. There was some friction between the unidentified relative and some of Martin's neighbors, authorities said.

No charges have been filed, and the case remains under investigation.

Ok, come on now...more media sensationalism...these are in no way "bombs"...zero explosives in these...gasoline is not an explosive by any definition...this is no more than Hollywood type "explosion" stuff...sure looks good and burns great...but and bomb it is not...

    "Dang...that looks like a Smirnoff bottle...what a waste of good vodka!!!" -lsigmon2020

It's Smirnoff Ice, and a homemade bomb is probably the most appropriate use for it. It's certainly not worth drinking.

I wish they would tell us what they were arguing about...it must have been something serious. Glad no one was hurt in this criminal act.
