Molotov cocktails in Parkton
PARKTON, N.C. — Two homemade bombs exploded in a Robeson County neighborhood early Tuesday, destroying two vehicles, authorities said Thursday.

The Molotov cocktail-type devices were used to set fire to a 2000 Chevrolet Impala and a 1971 Dodge pickup owned by Paul Martin, of Tawdry Lane, authorities said. Deputies recovered a third, unexploded device.

Authorities said the incident was an act of retaliation against a relative of Martin's who had been living with him. There was some friction between the unidentified relative and some of Martin's neighbors, authorities said.

No charges have been filed, and the case remains under investigation.
