Cary police step up patrol after home burglaries
CARY, N.C. — Police are looking into a burglary that happened early Thursday at a home in the Lochmere neighborhood of Cary.

A home security system alerted officers to a home on Ashwyn Court in Lochmere Village, police said. The house was occupied at the time.

Investigators ask that anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area early Thursday contact the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4324 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746.

Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest or indictment in a case, and all calls are confidential.

In January, police increased patrols in the Lochmere Highlands neighborhood after several home burglaries in which someone stole TVs, purses, jewelry and electronics while residents were asleep inside.

Those cases remain unsolved, and Cary police said Thursday they are looking at whether the latest case could be related.
