HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — Police reopened Holly Springs and Sunset Lake roads after firefighters extinguished a house fire late Monday afternoon.

Crews contained the fire in the one-story brick house by 5:15 p.m., and the roads were reopened about 45 minutes later, said Mark Andrews, a public-information officer for the town.

No one was in the home when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire appears to have been electrical, Holly Springs Fire Chief Cecil Parker said.

The home was heavily damaged by smoke and received some flame damage.

Westbound traffic on Holly Springs Road was diverted onto Lockley Road for some time.
