— Police have charged a Holly Springs man with attempted murder after his 7-month-old son almost drowned in a bathtub.

Carlos Lamar Murray, 23, of 616 Guerin Road, also was charged with two counts of intentional child abuse. He was being held Friday in the Wake County jail under a $1 million bond.

According to an arrest warrant, Murray's son showed the symptoms of shaken-baby syndrome, including having both eyes almost swollen shut and bruising on the bridge of the nose. The boy also was allowed to slip underwater in the tub and inhale water, and Murray didn't try to help him, the warrant states.

"he was to young to have had a baby in the first place"

WOW really wildcat???? Since when do you need to be a certain age to have a child? 23 years old is an adult not a child. As a matter of fact at the age of 23 I adopted my daughter and single on top of that. So I don't think age has anything to do with it. Someone who is 15 and has a child knows better than to do what this man has done. Maybe you should think about rephrasing that. Maybe he is to IMMATURE to have a child but not to young

he was to young to have had a baby in the first place. I million bond is a good thing. that way no one will be able to get him out. He needs some help and prison time. Praying that the baby will be OK in time.

A 7 month old baby he did this to that is totally defenseless ? Pure evil. A person that would do this to a baby is not welcome on earth

What a sorry, sorry individual. If he is guilty, I hope that his punishment is harsh and swift.

They are not saying how the child is, but with this type of abuse and near drowning, it would seem to be a poor outcome. WHEN convicted..life imprisonment, and tell those he is in with what he did..They will take care of him,as the judiciall system will surely fail this .
