Now that most of us have survived Tropical Storm Ernesto without too many problems it is time to direct our attention to the Labor Day weekend ahead. The hotdog and hamburger cuisine is still big for this holiday. I would like to share with you my recipe for the Best Holiday Hamburger. I begin with 1.5 lbs. of lean ground beef. Add two tablespoons of dry french onion soup mix. A dash of extra virgin olive oil is next followed by one teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and form patties which are about a 1/4 inch thick. In the final minute of grilling these great burgers top one side with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese. American cheese is a waste of calories. Havarti is permissable as is Swiss. Top that burger with a thick slice of a juicy tomato and you're in culinary heaven. What is your favorite hamburger recipe?
