Hoke County man faces child sex charges

Roy Warren Lansdowne, 71, of 708 Bostic Road, was arrested Saturday and charged with three counts of felonious indecent liberties with a child. He was being held in the Hoke County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.

The Hoke County Sheriff's Office received a complaint last Thursday that a 9-year-old had been sexually abused. As investigators looked into the case, they learned of a 20-year-old case in New York state involving the suspect and began a joint investigation with New York authorities that led to Lansdowne's arrest, authorities said.
