Hoke County authorities were searching Tuesday for a missing 83-year-old man who is believed to be suffering from dementia.

RED SPRINGS, N.C. — Hoke County authorities were searching Tuesday for a missing 83-year-old man who is believed to be suffering from dementia.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Domingo Rivera-Ramos at about 2:30 p.m. Monday after he went missing from the 600 block of Blue Road in Red Springs.

It's unclear where Rivera-Ramos could be headed.

Rivera-Ramos is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has short gray hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes, a blue and white flannel shirt and black baseball cap with "Proud Army dad" written on it.

Anyone with information on Rivera-Ramos' whereabouts should call the Hoke County Sheriff's Department at 910-875-2135.
