Historic Oak View plans birthday bash for goats

Boyd and Quint, the goats at Historic Oak View County Park

I thought this was too cute:

Historic Oak View County Park in Wake County will hold a birthday party for its goats on June 1. This is the second year for the party, which includes games, activities, cake and a round of "Happy Birthday" for Boyd and Quint.

The park, a fantastic place to visit if you haven't been, held the party for the first time last year. It was such a big hit, they're doing it again, the park's Sara Drumheller tells me.

And this year, the park will be sending out personal invitations to kids. Parents just need to send in their child's name and mailing address to park staff.

You can email your child's name and address to Drumheller at sara.drumheller@wakegov.com. Invitations will go out in mid-May.

The Barnyard Birthday Bash is 10 a.m. to noon, June 1, at the park at 4028 Carya Dr. It's all free.
