High school learning lab launches gatherings for parents of teens

Posted March 4, 2014

The Wade Edwards Learning Lab in Raleigh is launching a new initiative for parents with teens.

Parents Living With Teens will be a monthly forum where parents can talk about topics related to raising a teen. The learning lab, across from Broughton High School in Raleigh, offers a slate of programs, including tutoring, test prep, summer programs and workshops for Wake County high school students.

The first gathering for parents is 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., March 12. This month's forum will be held in partnership with Legal Aid NC. The topic is being a powerful educational advocate for your child and understanding the legal rights of parents and students in public schools.

For questions and to RSVP, contact Betsey McFarland at 919-856-9233, ext. 101, or at bmcfarland@wade.org. She'd also love to hear your suggestions for future topics.
