High pressure brings dry evening for high school football
Although a few showers are possible Friday afternoon, WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson said the evening is likely to remain dry.
Posted — Updated"We have some low clouds hanging around, but the sunshine is pushing though," he said. "The evening commute should be dry for most of us."
Johnson said anyone heading out to watch high school football can leave the rain gear at home.
Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid 60s before warming up Saturday.
Some fog could pop up on Saturday morning. But temperatures will rise to 90 degrees with plenty of sun, which will improve the visibility for Tar Heels fans heading to Kenan Memorial Stadium to see their game against the University of Pittsburgh.
Highs on Saturday are expected to top out at about 90 degrees.
According to Johnson, the next chance for rain is Sunday night and into Monday.
