Henry Winkler among children's authors headed to Quail Ridge Books

Here's who's coming and when: 

Artist Raul Gonzalez, also known as Raul the Third, is the illustrator behind Cathy Camper's Lowriders in Space. According to Quail Ridge staff, young and not so young fans of graphic novels will enjoy Gonzalez's drawing program with a demo, activities and advice for young artists. He'll be at the store at 5 p.m., Thursday. Gonzalez currently has an exhibit at Artspace in downtown Raleigh. This one is best for ages 7 and up.

Author Gordon Korman, has two books - The Hypnotists and Ungifted - among the current N.C. Children's Book Award children's choice nominees. He'll be at Quail Ridge at 7 p.m., Feb. 9, with the first book of his new series - Masterminds. Gordon will sign or personalize Masterminds and Ungifted and sign up to two other of his titles with the purchase of Masterminds or Ungifted from Quail Ridge. For ages 8 and up.

Finally, Winkler and his co-author Lin Oliver will return with their book "Fake Snakes and Weird Wizards No. 4" from the Here's Hank series. They'll visit at 7 p.m., Feb. 12. Winkler has visited Quail Ridge before. Staffers say he is a compelling and inspirational speaker for kids. This is a signing line ticket event, which means you'll need to buy "Fake Snakes" from Quail Ridge in paperback or hardcover to get it signed during the event. It's best to pre-order your book before you go. This is best for ages 6 and up. According to Quail Ridge's website, with each purchase of Henry Winkler's and Lin Oliver's books, you may enter your name in a drawing for a chance to have Winkler record a message on your voice mail. The drawing will be that night.
