Henderson woman charged in shooting

A Henderson woman faces charges that she tried to kill a man shot in the back around midnight Sunday, police said.

HENDERSON, N.C. — A Henderson woman faces charges that she tried to kill a man shot in the back around midnight Sunday, police said.

Catherine Denise Dunston, 48, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with the shooting of David Parham.

Parham was driven to Maria Parham Hospital after being shot at 422 Harriet St., police said. His condition is stable.

Dunston was given a $100,000 secured bond. She was scheduled to appear in court Aug. 5.

Police have not discussed a motive in the shooting.
