Henderson police: Man killed brother inside hotel

Henderson police arrested a 26-year-old man Friday night and charged him with second-degree murder in the death of his brother.

HENDERSON, N.C. — Henderson police arrested a 26-year-old man Friday night and charged him with second-degree murder in the death of his brother. 

Officers responded to a call at the Scottish Inns on North Garnett Street about 11:15 p.m. and found emergency personnel performing procedures on Antonio Hammond, 33, of Henderson. 

Hammond was taken to Maria Parham Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. 

Clifton Morris Hammond, 26, was charged in the incident. Clifton Hammond was in the Vance County jail under a $100,000 bond and will make his first court appearance Nov. 5. 

No other information about Antonio Hammond's death was released.
